Private or Group Tour in Morocco: How to Choose

Should you book a private or group tour in Morocco? Choose private if you want your own dates, route and pace, and no strangers in the vehicle. Choose a shared departure if you want a lower price per person and are happy with fixed dates. We run both, including selected shared departures: ask us for the current dates.

Which suits you

Which option fits your trip?

Choose private if

  • You have fixed dates or a tight schedule
  • You travel with family or children and want your own pace
  • You want a custom route, extra stops or more time somewhere
  • You prefer no strangers in the vehicle

Choose a shared departure if

  • You want a lower price per person
  • Your dates match one of our departures
  • You are happy to travel with other guests

How big is a private group?

A private trip can have up to 10 people. For larger groups, ask us and we will organise it. We choose the vehicle to match: 4×4, minivan, private car, or a minibus for large groups. Shared departures have their own group size; ask us when you enquire.

What to ask any operator before booking

Whether you choose private or shared, a few questions protect you and set expectations. Any reputable operator should answer them clearly.

  • Licence: are you a licensed agency or operator, and may I see your registration number?
  • Own guides and drivers: are your guides licensed and your drivers experienced on the routes to the desert?
  • Insurance: what cover is included for passengers, and what should I arrange myself?
  • Cancellation: what are the cancellation and refund terms, in writing?

Questions travellers ask

Private or shared: quick answers

Is a private tour much more expensive?

Per person, yes: a shared departure costs less because the vehicle and guide are shared. Send us your dates and group size and we will quote both.

Can I join a group tour on my dates?

Only if a shared departure runs then. We run selected shared departures; tell us your dates and we will confirm what is available.

Can I bring children?

Yes, children are welcome on both private and shared trips. We arrange seats, timing and stops in advance, and a private trip is often easier for families because the pace is yours.

How many people can join a private trip?

Up to 10. Larger groups on request.

How do I check an operator is legitimate?

Ask for their licence and registration, confirm they use licensed guides and insured drivers, and get the cancellation terms in writing before paying a deposit.

Can I mix a private and group tour?

Sometimes: a private day around a city plus a shared longer route can work. Tell us what you have in mind and we will check whether the dates line up.

Ask for a quote for both

Tell us your dates and group size and we will quote a private trip, and a shared departure if one fits. We reply within 24 hours, with no obligation.
