Morocco travel guide

Morocco Travel Guide

A plain-English overview of planning, routes, transport and what to expect, written for a first-time visitor.

Planning your route

Most first visits take in Marrakech, the imperial city of Fes, and the Moroccan Sahara, with the Atlas mountains and the coast as options along the way. A loose loop Marrakech → desert → Fes → Chefchaouen → coast is a classic that balances cities, landscape and rest. For ready-made ideas, see our Morocco Tours and Sahara Desert Tours.

Getting around

Private car with a driver is the most comfortable and flexible way to cover Morocco, with no timetables and stops when you want. We arrange this on every tour, with your own guide. Domestic flights work for a few long hops, and trains connect the main cities.

What to expect

Souks are lively and haggling is part of the fun; guidance helps. Weather shifts are real, and layers are your friend. And nearly everything is negotiable except your itinerary, which we plan in advance so you can relax on arrival.
