A complete loop of Morocco’s imperial and coastal north: the blue-washed Rif town of Chefchaouen, the Roman ruins of Volubilis, imperial Meknes and a day on foot through the medinas of Fes, then Rabat’s Hassan Tower and Casablanca’s great Hassan II Mosque before the coast road home via whitewashed Assilah. Entirely private, a comfortable first taste of the north.

Tangier to Chefchaouen
A short city walk before travelling through the Rif and Tetouan to the blue-washed town of Chefchaouen for a night in the mountains.
Volubilis, Meknes & Fes
Through Ouezzane and the Rif villages to the Roman ruins of Volubilis, then imperial Meknes, with its medina walls, Bab el-Mansour and the shrine of Moulay Ismail, before driving on to Fes for the night.
A day in Fes
On foot through the alleys: the Royal Palace gate, Morocco’s first mellah, Al Qaraouine University, the tanneries, the Attarine Museum and the mausoleum of Moulay Idriss, then a panoramic view over the whole medina.
Fes to Rabat & Casablanca
Rabat’s Hassan Tower, Mohammed V Mausoleum and the Kasbah of the Oudaya, then Casablanca’s Hassan II Mosque and a walk along the seafront Corniche, overnighting there.
Casablanca to Tangier via Assilah
Up the coast, calling at the whitewashed town of Assilah, then on to Tangier, where the tour ends.
